About Wendy

Wendy has been working as a design professional for ten years, running Rood for half that time. On finishing her tertiary studies (Bachelor of Design at Monash, Post Graduate Diploma in Animation & Multimedia at RMIT) she worked for various advertising agencies and web design companies, including Clemenger, Zivo and Squib.

Wendy is a tragic fan of Disney (early years), Picasso, Jim Henson, Miyazaki Hayao, the golden age of Warner Brothers animation, Dr Seuss, Maurice Sendak, Nick Park, and Shaun Tan to name a few.

Why "Rood"?

The gargoyle named Rood leapt from Wendy's mind a few years ago. She liked the shape of the word, so it became her business name.

Atrocious hygiene and a foul mouth, Rood is a gargoyle of the worst sort. By contrast, his best friend Dood is sophisticated, sensitive and has delicate nerves. Dood is a pidgeon of unknown sex, who likes to use big words and read heavy books. Rood enjoys sleeping, emitting noises from various parts of his body, and inflicting pain on his best mate.

Wendy has created a few short animations showing the odd-couple relationship between these two characters. One of these days she'll get around to putting them online. more stills
